1. Who this is with, and acceptance
heatpumpsaver.co.uk (the "site") is operated by Heat Pump Saver Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By using the site — including reading its guides, using its calculators, or submitting an enquiry form — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What this site is
heatpumpsaver.co.uk is an information and installer-matching service. We publish guidance on heat pumps and the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), provide calculators and an eligibility checker, and help homeowners find MCS-certified installers.
We are not an installer. We do not survey properties, design heating systems, supply or install heat pumps, apply for grants on your behalf, or carry out any building or heating work of any kind. Any installation work is carried out entirely by the independent MCS-certified installer you choose to instruct, not by us.
3. Calculators, eligibility checks and other tools
The cost calculator, BUS eligibility checker, and any similar tool on this site produce indicative estimates only, based on the information you enter and general published figures (such as DESNZ, Ofgem and Energy Saving Trust data). They are not:
- a quote, or a substitute for a quote from an MCS-certified installer;
- a guarantee that you, or your property, will be eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme or any other grant;
- a survey of your property, and cannot account for factors only a site visit reveals (insulation condition, existing pipework, access, and similar); or
- financial, tax, or legal advice.
Actual costs, savings, and grant eligibility depend on your specific property and circumstances, and are ultimately confirmed only by DESNZ, Ofgem, or the installer carrying out the work — not by this site.
4. No financial advice
Nothing on this site constitutes regulated financial advice. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing we publish should be treated as a personal recommendation to enter into any particular financial arrangement (including any loan, credit agreement, or energy tariff). If you need advice tailored to your financial circumstances, speak to a qualified, regulated adviser.
5. Installer matching and contracts for work
Where we introduce you to one or more MCS-certified installers, or you request installer recommendations through our forms, that introduction is the extent of our involvement.
- Any contract for a survey, quote, or installation work is formed directly between you and the installer — we are not a party to it, and we do not receive any part of the price you pay the installer for their work.
- We check that installers we list currently hold MCS certification on the public MCS register. This is a certification check, not an endorsement, and not a guarantee of the quality, price, timeliness, or outcome of any work an installer carries out.
- We are not responsible for any act or omission of an installer, including delays, defects, pricing, or how they handle your data once you are in direct contact with them (see our privacy policy for what happens to your data when it is shared with a matched installer).
- Using this site is free for homeowners. We never charge you to use the site, the calculators, or the installer-matching service.
6. Accuracy of content
We try hard to keep guidance accurate and current — see our editorial policy for how content is sourced and reviewed. However, grant schemes, prices, and energy tariffs change, and we cannot guarantee that every page reflects the very latest position at the moment you read it. Where a figure or rule matters to a decision you are about to make, verify it against the primary source we cite, or with your installer, before relying on it.
7. Limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We exclude all warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the content, calculators, and tools on this site.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on content, a calculator result, or an eligibility check, or from your dealings with any installer introduced through the site.
- We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of savings, loss of a grant, or wasted expenditure.
- Because access to the site is free, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with your use of the site is limited to £0, except where the law does not allow us to exclude or limit liability at all — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8. Intellectual property
The text, design, graphics, and calculators on this site belong to Heat Pump Saver Ltd or our licensors, unless stated otherwise. You may view, print, and share individual pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, scrape, or reuse our content or tools at scale, or represent it as your own, without our written permission.
9. Third-party links
This site links to third-party websites, including government sites (such as DESNZ, Ofgem, and MCS) and installer websites. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability.
10. Changes to the site and these terms
We may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site at any time, and we may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the one that applies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them or to your use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
