Who writes and reviews our content

heatpumpsaver.co.uk content is written and reviewed by a small, named team. We do not publish anonymous or pseudonymous guidance.

Dr Emma Lin

MCS-EL-558202

MCS-certified reviewer, checks technical and grant-eligibility content for accuracy before publication.

Where our figures come from

We source facts and figures from primary, publicly available sources:

Where a figure comes from one of these sources, we aim to cite it inline or link to the publication it is drawn from, so you can check it yourself rather than take our word for it.

How an article gets published

  1. An author drafts the piece, using the primary sources above. We use AI tools to help with research and first drafts, but no AI-generated text is published without a human author taking responsibility for it.
  2. Technical and grant-eligibility content is checked by our MCS-certified reviewer before publication. The reviewer's name and MCS number are shown on the article.
  3. The article is published with its author, and its reviewer where applicable, named — plus a publication date and, after any substantive edit, an updated date.

Not every page carries a named reviewer — general explainer and comparison pages that do not turn on a specific technical or eligibility judgement are author-checked rather than formally reviewed. Where you see a reviewer credited with an MCS number, that page has been through the additional technical check described above.

How often we revisit published guidance

Grant rules, price caps, and scheme deadlines change, so static guidance can go stale. We aim to:

We are a small team, so this is a target we work towards rather than a service level guarantee. If you rely on a figure from an older page for a decision, it is always worth checking the primary source we cite, or asking us directly.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we want to know. Email hello@heatpumpsaver.co.uk, or use the contact form and select "Correction or feedback". We fix confirmed errors as soon as we reasonably can, and update the page's "updated" date when we do. We do not silently edit a published figure or claim without updating that date.

Commercial independence

Installers can pay for a featured listing or per-lead pricing on this site — see how we make money for the specifics. No installer, manufacturer, energy supplier, or other commercial party previews, edits, or approves editorial content before it is published, and commercial relationships play no part in which facts we report or how we report them. Editorial decisions and commercial relationships are handled separately.
